My name is Roy and I live in Maastricht. In October 2010, I started at Videobutler as a Videobutler, but soon after my employment I started working with my colleague Remi on setting up the Technical Support department. Now, my work consists mainly of securing the entire network environment, developing applications internally and for customers and designing computer networks. During my time at the university where I studied Informatics, I already gained a lot of experience with video conferencing. I completed my entire degree remotely, with help of of video and video conferencing. After I was approached by Remko Brilman from Videobutler with the question whether I wanted to work for Videobutler whilst doing everything from home, I did not have to think about it for a long time. Due to Duchenne’s muscle disease, traveling is difficult for me and working from home is therefore perfect. In the team of Videobutler, there is a lot of understanding for each other’s limitations, which places the emphasis on the skills you can do and it helps eliminating obstacles of the “can’t do’s”. In addition, being in contact with people from around the world is one of the very best aspects of this work! I enjoy working at Videobutler and spend a lot of time and energy in this amazing job. If I’m not working, I like to drink beer with friends in the summer on a terrace and I also like gaming and I like to spend time on my other hobby collecting and playing records!
